I have heard a number of reports that those receiving hormone replacement have increased risk of numerous health problems including cancers, coronary problems and stroke. I have heard this for both men and women. Some of the possible side effects brought to my attention when I started could increase things like blood pressure that is connected to coronary problems and stroke. I found a summary of a study done over a fair sized sample about long term effects of testosterone replacement. According to this study long term effects actually improve your chances of not having some of these problems. It is short term that the risks increase. One of the big challenges for me as I've started this was I could be on it for a long time. At least this study makes it seem long term shouldn't cause me concerns. Obviously one study isn't sufficient to put all fears to rest but it does seem promising. Hopefully more studies are being conducted.
